Delhi Minister Atishi on tuesday alleged that following the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) would now target her, along with Saurabh Bharadwaj, Durgesh Pathak, and Raghav Chadha “I have been told that soon there will be ED raids at our residence and then we will be taken into custody. The BJP is now targeting the next line of the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party,” Atishi said.

 

Atishi's Allegations and ED's Targets

 

The AAP leader's revelation came a day after the Enforcement Directorate claimed that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal named Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj while being questioned in connection with the excise policy case.

 

Atishi added that the BJP expected the AAP to crumble after Arvind Kejriwal's arrest but they got deterred by the unity displayed by opposition parties at Ramlila Maidan on Sunday. "So now they want to target the next line of leadership," Atishi said.

 

Social Media Scuttlebutt

 

Following ED's mention of Atishi and Saurabh, there were rumors on social media that Saurabh Bharadwaj unfollowed Kejriwal on X (formerly Twitter). However, Bharadwaj clarified, "To those spreading false news, both I and @ArvindKejriwal ji follow each other. Yesterday’s Ramlila Maidan Rally was a massive success. The people of Delhi stand with Kejriwal."

 

BJP Dismissal and Criticism of Kejriwal

 

Calling her allegations ‘baseless,’ BJP leader RP Singh said, “I too can make such baseless allegations. I, too, can say that Saurabh Bharadwaj called me up and requested me to protect them from Arvind Kejriwal, who wants to put them behind bars and make Sunita Kejriwal the CM."

 

BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa said Arvind Kejriwal is the only person who has fooled her. “No one except Arvind Kejriwal has fooled you. He has destroyed several lives before her. When Arvind Kejriwal gave their names to the ED, they felt that they are the next in turn because Kejriwal has given them away."

 

He also added, “Atishi claims that he has gotten a message. She should reveal the name of her close aide so that the ED can arrest him. BJP will not take in such a corrupt leader like Atishi and even will not allow her to walk outside its office."
